The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially released the deployment letters for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II prospective corps members (PCMs), marking an important milestone in the onboarding process for this batch.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, the NYSC reminded all PCMs about the importance of traveling safely to their designated orientation camps. As part of this advisory, the scheme strongly advised corps members to avoid traveling at night to ensure their safety and security during the journey. This precautionary measure is aimed at reducing potential risks and challenges that may arise during late-night travel.
Furthermore, the NYSC announced an essential requirement for all prospective corps members: they must print and sign an addendum. This document will be submitted during the registration process upon arrival at their orientation camps. The addendum is an important part of the registration protocol, ensuring that all legal and procedural formalities are properly handled.
The deployment has also provided clarification regarding the specific orientation camp locations. For example, some PCMs who have been deployed to Lagos will have their orientation courses conducted in nearby states like Ekiti, Ondo, and Osun, rather than within Lagos itself. Similarly, PCMs who have been deployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will be required to attend their orientation in Nasarawa and Kaduna camps instead of the FCT.
It is crucial for all PCMs to make proper arrangements for their journey, taking into account their camp locations and the necessary documentation. They should ensure they have access to the deployment letter and the signed addendum before traveling. The NYSC has also emphasized that these letters and documents are vital for a smooth registration and integration into the orientation process once they arrive at their respective camps.
Prospective corps members are encouraged to carefully review the list of deployment centres, confirm their assigned camp, and prepare for a seamless transition into the NYSC orientation course. As always, adhering to the instructions provided by the NYSC will be critical in avoiding delays or any possible setbacks in the process.
The deployment marks an exciting moment for Batch ‘C’ Stream II PCMs as they begin their journey in the NYSC program, which aims to foster national unity, promote self-reliance, and offer valuable experiences for both personal and professional development.
The NYSC continues to stress the importance of safety, discipline, and adherence to the program’s rules to all corps members.
