The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially activated the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) for the 2025/2026 academic session. This system allows candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, colleges of nursing sciences, colleges of health technology, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions across Nigeria to monitor their admission status directly online.
Candidates should regularly check their JAMB CAPS to see whether an institution has offered them admission. Additionally, doing so helps them respond promptly to any offers.. Prompt action to accept or reject admission offers is crucial to avoid losing opportunities.
How to Use JAMB CAPS for the 2025/2026 Admission Process
1. Verify Your O’Level Upload
Candidates must properly upload their O’Level results before their admission can be processed.
- Visit the JAMB e-Facility Portal and log in with your registered email and password.
- Click Check Admission Status and select Access My CAPS.
- Open My O’Level Result to verify the upload status.
Candidates with pending uploads must visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre to submit their results. Those with “Awaiting Result” status risk delays in their admission process.
2. Check for Admission Offers
After confirming your result upload, go to Admission Status on your CAPS dashboard. If you are recommended or approved for admission, then accept the offer immediately. Moreover, doing so secures your place at the institution. Once accepted, print your JAMB Admission Letter and follow your institution’s clearance instructions.
3. Programme Transfer Approval
Some institutions may recommend transferring your programme based on UTME scores or O’Level subject combinations:
- Navigate to Transfer Approval on CAPS.
- Review and either accept or reject the transfer option.
Accepting the transfer allows the school to process your admission into the new programme. However, rejecting the offer may prevent your admission from proceeding if you do not meet the requirements.
4. Upload for Awaiting Results and Direct Entry Candidates
UTME candidates awaiting O’Level results should upload them as soon as the exam board releases them. At the same time, Direct Entry candidates, including JUPEB and A’Level students, must also upload both A’Level and O’Level results. Furthermore, completing this step ensures they remain eligible for screening.
5. Confirming Your Admission Status on CAPS
To check your admission status:
- Log in to the JAMB e-Facility Portal.
- Click Check Admission Status and enter your JAMB registration number.
- Select Admission Status to view any offer.
- Accept or reject offers via biometrics at an accredited CBT Centre or by sending ACCEPT or REJECT to 55019 or 66019 from your registered phone number.

Final Note on Monitoring JAMB CAPS

Timely action guarantees a smoother 2025/2026 admission experience and prevents delays or loss of opportunities.
