The Charles Obinna Foundation (COF) has announced the launch of its Free JAMB Registration Support Programme, aimed at assisting 1,000 indigent students across all 27 local government areas (LGAs) of Imo State. This initiative seeks to eliminate financial barriers and provide equal opportunities for students to sit for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The official launch of the program is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, Owerri Auditorium Hall. Governor Hope Uzodinma is expected to attend as the Special Guest of Honor, underscoring the government’s commitment to educational empowerment. Through this program, 40 students from each LGA will be selected and granted full sponsorship for their JAMB registration fees, ensuring they can pursue higher education opportunities without financial constraints.
The selection process is being conducted in collaboration with the Imo State Ministry of Education and local education coordinators to ensure transparency and fairness. Eligible students are encouraged to apply through their respective LGA coordinators. Applications will close on Friday, March 7, 2025. Community leaders, educators, and parents are urged to share this opportunity widely to ensure all deserving students are captured.
Since its establishment in 2015, the Charles Obinna Foundation has been actively involved in education, healthcare, agriculture, housing, and youth empowerment. Over the years, the foundation has impacted more than 15,000 lives through various community support programs. Founder Charles Obinna emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of Imo State and Nigeria, stating, “Education is the bedrock of sustainable development. By supporting these students, we are investing in their future and the growth of Imo State.”
Governor Hope Uzodinma has remained committed to improving access to education in Imo State. His administration has actively supported policies and programs that remove financial obstacles for students, ensuring that no child is left behind. This free JAMB registration initiative aligns with the state’s Shared Prosperity Agenda, which focuses on education, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
This free JAMB registration initiative is a life-changing opportunity for students in Imo State who might have struggled to afford the cost of sitting for the UTME. With March 7, 2025, as the deadline for applications, all eligible students are encouraged to apply on time. For more information, students should contact their local government education offices or visit the foundation’s representatives in their respective LGAs.
