The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that more than 1.5 million candidates have successfully registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The Board, however, issued a stern warning to prospective candidates, stressing that there would be no extension of the registration deadline beyond March 8, 2025.

The registration process for the 2025 UTME, which began on February 3, is set to close on March 8, and JAMB has made it clear that no exceptions will be made. Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor for JAMB, emphasized the importance of adhering to the set deadline, stating that the registration timeline had been clearly communicated through advertisements and the official calendar for the exam.

According to Dr. Benjamin, the current number of registrations is closely aligned with the Board’s initial projections for the 2025 examination cycle. However, he cautioned that candidates should not delay their registration, as the final day for submission is fast approaching.

“The deadline is firm and fixed,” Dr. Benjamin said in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja. “This notice is particularly crucial, especially in light of the recent decline in registration numbers. We urge all prospective candidates to complete their registration as soon as possible to avoid last-minute rush.”

JAMB’s calendar is tightly scheduled, with subsequent activities, including examinations, results processing, and the admissions exercise, dependent on the timely completion of registration. The Board’s operations are coordinated with other agencies, and extending the registration period would have significant repercussions on those plans.

With the clock ticking, JAMB is urging all candidates to complete their registration before the March 8 deadline to ensure they do not miss out on the opportunity to participate in the 2025 UTME.
