Many candidates registering for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have expressed frustration over long hours spent at Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers in Lagos. Reports indicate that hundreds of prospective candidates endure extended wait times due to technical issues, slow processing, and network disruptions at registration points.
Several applicants arrived at the centers as early as 6 a.m., hoping to complete their registration swiftly, but many were forced to wait in long queues for hours. Some candidates attributed the delays to system malfunctions and overcrowding, as more students rushed to meet the registration deadline. Others lamented the inefficiency of some operators, which further prolonged the process.
Parents and guardians accompanying their children also voiced concerns about the stressful experience, urging the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to improve the process. Some called for increased registration centers to ease congestion and prevent unnecessary delays.
CBT center operators, however, blamed slow internet connectivity and occasional power outages for the disruptions. They assured candidates that efforts were being made to resolve the challenges and ensure a smoother process before the registration deadline.
Despite the setbacks, JAMB officials have reiterated their commitment to a seamless registration process and encouraged candidates to remain patient. Prospective UTME applicants are advised to register early and verify their documentation to avoid last-minute complications.
