The Ogun State Police Command has declared popular singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as “Portable,” wanted over allegations of a violent attack on state government officials who were carrying out lawful duties.
According to a statement issued by the police, a valid court order has been obtained for his arrest and immediate presentation at any police station.
The incident occurred on February 5, 2025, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office, were conducting an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota. The officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were allegedly attacked while demanding the approved building plan for an ongoing structure at Portable’s Odogwu Bar in the area.
Reports indicate that the officials first met Portable’s father at the location, who informed them that the singer was unavailable. However, moments later, Portable allegedly arrived with nine others, wielding dangerous weapons, and violently attacked the officials.
The victims reportedly sustained injuries during the assault and managed to escape. The matter was subsequently reported to the Ota Area Command, which later transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further action.
The police revealed that while nine suspects were arrested in connection with the attack, Portable fled the scene and has since gone into hiding. Despite multiple formal invitations requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the singer allegedly ignored them without providing any reason or legal representation.
In a statement signed by CSP Omolola Odutola, the command’s spokesperson, the police confirmed that a valid court order has been issued declaring Portable wanted.
The police have urged members of the public to assist in locating the singer, warning that anyone found aiding or harboring him will face legal consequences.
“For any relevant information, kindly report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or the police public relations department,” the statement added.
