If we don’t strengthen education, healthcare, others, we have failed – Mutfwang tells appointees

Governor Caleb Mutfwang has issued a strong warning to his appointees, emphasizing that their success in office will be measured by their ability to strengthen key sectors such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Speaking at a government function, the Plateau State governor stressed that failure to improve these critical areas would mean a failure in governance and service to the people.

Mutfwang highlighted the pressing challenges facing education, healthcare, and public service delivery in the state, calling for immediate and sustained interventions. He noted that schools are grappling with poor infrastructure, lack of teaching materials, and low motivation among educators, which has directly impacted the quality of learning. He further pointed out that healthcare facilities remain underfunded and ill-equipped, making it difficult to provide adequate medical services to the population.

The governor urged his appointees to prioritize policies and programs that will drive significant improvements, stating that governance is not about personal gains but about service to the people. He warned against complacency, adding that his administration would not tolerate failure or excuses from those entrusted with leadership positions.

Mutfwang’s statement comes at a time when Nigerians are increasingly demanding better governance, accountability, and transparency. Public health and education experts have echoed his concerns, stating that without urgent investment and reforms, these sectors will continue to deteriorate, leaving citizens without access to quality services.

Observers believe that his administration’s performance in these areas will be a defining factor in its legacy. The governor assured that resources would be allocated strategically to ensure meaningful progress, but he stressed that the responsibility lies with those in leadership to make things work.
