A tragic accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Danlitti turning inbound Lagos, claimed the life of one person and left seven others with varying degrees of injuries. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning and involved a collision between a truck and a Mazda bus, which led to further damage when the bus struck another truck ahead of it.
According to traffic updates from Seni Ogunyemi, the Commandant General of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), a total of 18 people were involved in the crash. The Mazda bus, bearing the number plate FFA 317 XD, was hit from behind by an unknown truck, causing the bus driver to crash into another moving truck. The truck that collided with the bus did not stop after the impact.
The crash involved 12 adult males and six adult females. Seven individuals sustained injuries and were promptly taken to a hospital along the expressway for treatment. Tragically, one victim was confirmed dead and taken to Famobis Morgue at Lotto by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
Ogunyemi confirmed that the injured were also transferred to Famobis Hospital for medical care.
