The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has praised Hon. Sokunle Olusola Hakeem, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, for his impactful philanthropy and unwavering commitment to improving the Oshodi/Isolo Local Government area and the broader Lagos State community.

In a statement issued by Comrade Alao John, the former Coordinator of NANS Southwest Zone and National Public Relations Officer aspirant, Hon. Sokunle was recognized for his dedication to driving progress in education, health, and youth empowerment, both during and after his tenure as Chairman of the House Committee on Health.

Comrade Alao emphasized Hon. Sokunle’s remarkable contributions to education and youth empowerment, including:

  • Donation of Two School Buses: Providing free transportation for students.
  • Support for Examinations: Sponsoring students for SSCE (GCE) and UTME exam forms.
  • Scholarship Programs: Offering financial assistance to underprivileged students.
  • ICT Empowerment: Providing free computer training programs for young people.

Throughout his tenure, Hon. Sokunle led health policies that significantly improved access to medical care within the community. His initiatives addressed critical health challenges, delivered essential resources to underserved areas, and built trust with the local population.

“Hon. Sokunle’s leadership was marked by a deep commitment to the well-being of his constituents, driven by a forward-thinking approach that prioritized both governance and the welfare of the people,” Comrade Alao noted.

Beyond his political career, Hon. Sokunle’s philanthropy showcases his belief in the potential of every individual. His programs are designed to uplift families, empower youth, and promote education and health awareness.

“With a vision that extends beyond politics, Hon. Sokunle is a role model for aspiring leaders. His ability to connect with people, listen to their needs, and take impactful action sets him apart as a true servant leader,” the statement concluded.

NANS called on others to follow Hon. Sokunle’s example of selflessness, underscoring the importance of visionary leadership that places the collective good at the forefront.

“As we reflect on his remarkable life and achievements, let us celebrate the positive changes he has brought to Oshodi/Isolo Local Government and beyond. Hon. Sokunle’s legacy lives on through the lives he has touched and the communities he has transformed,” Comrade Alao concluded.

Hon. Sokunle Olusola Hakeem remains a shining example of leadership rooted in compassion, integrity, and progress, leaving an enduring impact on the lives of his constituents and the community at large.
